How much does it cost to play in the Because You Care Cup?

The tournament is divided by male/female youth, male/female adults, and corporate teams with different costs for each.

  • Youth Male (ages 8-11) - $300 per team
  • Youth Male (ages 12-14) - $300 per team
  • Youth Male (ages 15-18) - $300 per team
  • Youth Female (ages 8-11) - $300 per team
  • Youth Female (ages 12-14) - $300 per team
  • Youth Female (ages 15-18) - $300 per team
  • Men - $500 per team
  • Women  - $500 per team
  • Corporate - $750 per team
What do I do after I have registered?

Once you and your team have registered, you are encouraged to get pledges and donations on behalf of your team! The more money your team raises, the more of a chance you have at winning the big prize at the end of the tournament! The registration fee should only be the start of your goal and we encourage you to continue after that. 

Where do my fundraising dollars go?

Your donations will go towards the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation.

How many players on a team?

The tournament is 3 on 3 plus goalie. Teams are encouraged to have 7-8 people on their team, but can have as few as 5 players and more than 8 if desired. The more the merrier!

How many games are we guaranteed to play?

You are guaranteed 3 games.

What is the last day of registration?

Registration for Because You Care Cup 2022 closes on September 9, 2022 at 11:59pm. We predict that this event will sell out quickly and encourage you to register early.

Also, when you register early, you have more time to fundraise and meet your targets.

What equipment is required?

We will provide nets and balls. Players are responsible for their sticks, light and dark shirts or jerseys, and safety gear.

What do we get if we win?

There will be medals for division champions. Since this is a fundraising-focused event, top prizes will be award to top tier fundraisers. The top fundraising team wins a BIG prize - details to be announced soon!

What happens if it rains?

We have never run into bad weather but the event will go on as planned RAIN or SHINE!
